Why is there so much hate today. We didn’t hate each other as much in years past did we? We had our differences. We thought the other side was wrong and we were right? We expressed our viewpoints and went our separate ways after our discussions. There was always another time. Another issue to take a position on. We went on with our life.

Today we, I would say the majority, are often afraid to express our opinions in public. We have our own set of friends. They have theirs.

What is sad is this will take a long time to heal.

My wife and I decided to get out of our little retirement compound and visit a small sea side city here in central Florida. Almost no one was wearing a mask. There were anti Biden signs in front of the little restaurant where we planned to have lunch. Then we saw this bike just outside.

We left!

Donald Trump — System Failure

It’s only been hours since Donald Trump announced he’s running for president and fact-checkers are already hard at work scrutinizing his many claims.

During this morning’s announcement the Republican entrepreneur stated he’s worth nearly $9 billion ($8,737,540,000 to be exact). However, Forbes begs to differ.

The magazine claims Trump’s net worth is actually $4.1 billion, less that half of what he told the American people when he made his bid on Tuesday.

According to Forbes, Trump’s commercial properties are worth $1.3 billion while his residential properties come in at $410 million. Between various other properties, properties in development, real estate licensing deals, the Trump brand, his various beauty pageants and other assets, Trump is worth just over $4 billion, meaning he exaggerated by over 100 percent

Poor Donald. I’m sure we can all relate to financial status. He will be looking out for the working people I’m sure.

The politics of what you drive (Rant)

Can you tell a person’s politics by what kind of vehicle he or she drives?

The local GOP seems to think so. These are the instructions for poll workers for the coming elections.

“Keep an eye on the vehicles coming into the parking lot,” the GOP said on their website.

“You can probably let the driver of the Prius with the peace bumper sticker walk past with a smile from you, but be sure stop the driver of the mini-van with the fish symbol and “families first” stickers. Ditto for NRA members and (usually) pick-up drivers. Moms and dads with kids during daytime hours may be home schoolers–good prospects. You’ll get the hand of it.”

AND it adds: “Busloads of people clutching scraps of paper as they enter the voting site–we can’t do anything about them. PLEASE CALL the emergency number and report the location, Precinct, time of day and information about the bus. Also include what is written on the bus to identify it.”

I did not make any of this up. This is unbelievable. What about men with long hair, same-sex couples, people who drive motorcycles. Does the guy with a button down docker shirt get a pass. How about the guy with a t-shirt that says, “Beer is not for breakfast anymore” t-shirt.

No wonder most of us hate politics and politicians.
