The dying embers would erase the formal documentation of her birth. A birth that should never had happened. They were warned. Well that’s harsh. They were medically informed is the political correct terminology. Deformed is the visually correct impression.
But the reality is that everyday she is challenged with the normal daily adult activities without assistance. A life worth living will not change with the destruction of the beginning.
Most telling was a voice not heard before, and therefore extra persuasive: “Your mother loved you.”
A parents love is the strongest.

This is SO well-written! A story that is repeated every time someone is born with a condition they will have to learn to live with, and still reflecting the importance of love in that life.

I love this Danny, it’s sad that many overlook the love and joy that is brought into our lives by people labelled so negatively 🙌

Well, dang! I love this. I was listening to NWPR about a baby born with cerebral palsy. The doctors said she would never walk or talk. Boy, were they wrong. You captured that in your piece.

Sounds like a sad situation but with a dose of hope in there too.
