What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie McFerrin posts a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.
The word does not have to appear inn your five sentences, just use it for direction.
This week: DANCING
Herman “Silky” McDowell sweeps confidently onto the dance floor, handsome in his newly pressed short-sleeve white shirt. He’s competing in an international ballroom championship for those over 80 years of age or older in Milan, Italy. And now he’s reached the finals in the rhythm category, which includes cha-cha, mambo, and rumba. Herman must save his strength as he must dance with the only two other contestants; but whatever the outcome he still will be a winner. “La Cucaracha, La Cucaracha, La Cucaracha.”
