They enjoyed their time together. Sunsets were the highlights of their existence now. His musical career spanned decades. She had first row seats at all the big events. Raising three children while he was on tour wasn’t near as much as a challenge as taking care of him now. She had been his sole support then as she was now. His violin was old and battered but it rested peacefully now upon her old wicker chair.
The violin began to play. She stood up and stretched. It was time to go inside. The sun sank below the horizon.
I think dementia is something we all fear and dread, in this age of living well into our 80s and 90s. This woman is commendable for her dedication.

I like the idea of a loving partnership to the very end. As exciting as his skill made her life in their younger days, taking care of someone who is now helpless is a labor of love. Interesting story.

He really is lucky to have her until the end. She has given so much of herself, her love must be great.

It must be hard to continue to love a person who has been changed, for better or for worse, by age and possibly dementia. Well told

I’m imagining that the musician has dementia now. A sweet love story, regardless.

Happens so often and always so sad. Dark, but well done, Danny.

A poignant story of the sacrifices that have to be made for artists to shine. Touching.

I sit in awe, and wonder how marvellous it is to make a living from enjoying music and entertaining others. A life of dedication comes across in your story and family love.
