An Art To Flying

This post is written for Friday Fictioneers. The challenge is to write a complete story with a beginning, middle and end in one hundred words or less using the picture prompt below.

He waved at her knowing that would be one of the last things she saw on this earth. He knew she would fail in her attempt. He told her of the many successes he had. She just had to concentrate. Real, real hard. She was a believer. She would do what he told her. He could feel the dull throbbing sensation, just behind the temples, that was a hallmark of his derangement. There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. he told her. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. “JUMP!”

  1. I’d like to think by now, people have learned not to “drink the Kool-Aid,” but there’s a sucker born every day. Believers never learn. A lot of us seem to have found a way for her to fall from that window.
