This post is submitted to Friday Fictioneers. The challenge is to write a complete story with a beginning, middle and end in 100 words or less using the picture prompt below. My story follows.

Growing up in the Bronx was tough for Richard. Absent father, mother working two jobs just to survive. It was easy to get lost when you are just one of over 1.4 million other wandering souls. He soon found himself.
It started when he picked up a half empty can of spray paint. At first he painted dumpsters just for kicks. Then entire brick walls. At one point he painted a subway car. Then, with his brother Mad, they painted the whole train top to bottom. The MTA tried to stop him with no luck. He earned the name “Godfather of Graffiti.”
******************************
No matter how good an artist he is painting someone else’s property without asking is bad. I hope he does well by getting involved with the art world.

I love graffity when it is more than a few scribbles on the wall. Good story.

Good story, if a bit sad. Graffiti can be an artform in and and of itself. I’ve seen some pretty awesome ones in the dredges of the cities.

I’ve seen some truly amazing ones in Europe.

Many great artists came from the Bronx. “But is it art?” Good story, Danny.

There are worse names he could be known by. Glad you used the grafitti in your story, Danny. Now he sells his work on tshirts and drives a Rolls-Royce.
