A Costly Mistake

I found the drug on the internet.

It was  one tenth what it would cost in the U.S.

And they would accept credit cards.

What a deal!

The prearranged meeting was set up at a local cafe.

It went something like out of a spy movie.

I was told to buy a local newspaper and enter the cafe at exactly nine in the morning.

Order water with lemon and a black coffee.

Someone would sit beside me.

The stranger would whisper “hand me the package, I will meet you out back.”

It’s been thirty minutes now. Everything is quiet.

Poor guy. That has the look and feel of a swindle. It’s clever but mean. The thief must have been watching spy movies. Good writing, Danny. —- Suzanne

Just a brief comment on how some people have to go to Mexico to get their needed medical drugs that are beyond their budget in the US. Thanks for commenting! Say “Hi” to Humphrey.

Oh no. He’s been had. It’s so easy for the scammers and even the most astute sometimes let their guard down and get caught. He’d better order something stronger now. Well told.

Thanks for commenting! Yes, he’s been scammed. Happens all too often to the elderly. Especially here in central FL. I head Vodka is on sale at the local liquor store. 🙂

He’s been had, and won’t see his money again.

No package no dough, that’s what Carol says. And she should know.🙂

I bet the person who set that up had a bit of a laugh at the extra little details they demanded while siphoning off the poor chap’s money!
