It would be an easy shot from here. The Remington model 770, 30-6 Bolt-Action Rifle with scope was ready to go. He had practiced hard for this opportunity and knew his rifle had exceptional accuracy.
Harvey had rented his room, directly across from the Grand Hotel, for this specific purpose. He knew his victim was to have dinner at 6 and would meet with colleagues in the parking lot a few minutes before to discuss their strategy.
His target was staying in room 306. Second floor, third window from right. He was to make a speech about the future of his country. A speech that Harvey violently disagreed with. If he were successful he expected a big payoff from his comrades who felt the same. A contract had been signed and he would deliver.
Harvey’s room was so small he had to stand in the bathtub and balance his rifle on the window ledge. He had his target centered in his scope. He didn’t hesitate. He fired.
I agree that he did what he’d planned. Thorough details made this seem very real, Danny. Well done. — Suzanne

Nice! I was thinking of using the sniper idea. You built that up nicely. I like all the details of his plan. It made the story real-er for me. Well done!

I like the way you built tension and then ended it leaving us to guess whether or not he hit his target (probably he did).

I did think about an ending but finally decided to leave it to the reader.
