This post is submitted to Friday Fictioneers. The challenge is to write a complete story with a beginning, middle and end in 100 words or less. My story follows the picture prompt below.

A little girl in a pink pinafore dress.
Her parents dreamed of nothing less.
Years spent in fruitless quest.
It was all worth while they said when pressed.
Time zipped by at record speed.
No, she was a special breed.
She never considered any wedding vows.
She said her lines, she took her bows.
A star was to be her fate.
Now she lives behind a rusted gate.
The perfect unfolding of her life. Too bad it was a sad life for her.
A huge amount said in so few words.

Oh such a sad ending, after her promising beginning. But talent and fame are double-edged swords. You show this so well here.

Beautifully written though. At least she had her own way, her own life.

Nicely done, Danny. Dark, but well crafted.

You told a lot of story in 100 words, Danny.

What a sad progression this story portrays. Like it.

Cleverly done Danny. Hard not to feel some sympathy after the last couple of years which seem to have zipped away from us all!

And when there’s no more bows to be taken, how do you live your life, then? Well said!
