Friday Fictioneers — Time’s Running Out

In response to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields Friday Fictioneer Challenge.

Friday Fict

They said it would only be a matter of time.

“Do you know where you are, Mrs. Taylor?”

“A pottery class. I’m an artist!”

“Who is the current President of the United States?”

“Grover Cleveland. And it’s his second presidency.”

“What is todays date?”

“June 21st, 1991. It’s the day I am to be married. Chuck’s such a nice man. That’s him over in the corner behind those empty bottles. Looks like he’s made quite a mess. He doesn’t mean to be destructive. He just can’t control his anger sometimes. Like the time he hit me with that big pottery pot.”

Danny, I thought it was just dementia until she mentioned the blow to the head. It’s no doubt a combination of both. Good story and well written. 🙂 — Susan

Thanks Susan. It is a combination of both. I started out with the dementia theme but then it turned into that blow to the head. Thanks for commenting.

She sounds as if she’s happy – no matter how she got dementia. Good take on the prompt.

Sad, and a little bit horrifying.

Yes, a little of both Sandra. Thanks for your comment.

    Dear Danny,

Wonderful take on the prompt. A little bit funny and a little bit tragic. Well done.

Poor woman. I was thinking “dementia” until I read that she got a bash to the head.

I think the bloke was a bit of an abuser.

Makes you wonder if she was confused about the assault or if it was how she got into this state of confusion.

Thanks! She’s a confused lady either way you read it.
