I was born in a cave
Father said I was his messenger
Winged hat and shoes were my favorite fashion
Squirmed free and ran to Thessaly
Brother love is what I craved
But robbed my brother instead
Brother protested my new-found herd
Zeus and Maia argued about that they did
Mother said it could not be
Father disagreed
Time for me to play my lyre

Those gods were something else, weren’t they? I really like your opening line and the way it sets the tone for the rest of the piece. Nicely done – and nice to see you! 🙂
