Friday Fictioneers — Vision

I pushed the newspaper I was reading at breakfast a full arms length away. The print, usually very clear,  was suddenly cloudy. I pulled the paper close to my nose with the same results.  I looked out my kitchen window and my beautiful natural area had turned from a brilliant spring green to a brownish blur. My mind became a kettle of brewing possibilities. I took my glasses off and my world suddenly became a huge swirling cotton ball. The thought of losing my vision was unbearable. Will I ever be able to see the colorful world I once knew?

    very reasonable. But, what about this? suopose you
    were to write a killer title? I amm not saying your content is noot good., however what iff
    you added something that grabbed folk’s attention?
    I mean Friday Fictioneers – Vision | Oh Danny Boy!
    is a little plain. You ought to look at Yahoo’s hoome page
    and ssee how they create article headlines to get people interested.You might try adding a video or a pic
    or two tto gett people excited about whzt you’ve got to say.

    Just myy opinion, it could make your posts a little bit more
    interesting.

  7. Danny, That was well-written but scary as it was based on a true story. I’m glad your sight is okay now. My mother was legally blind due to high blood pressure and bleeding behind the eyes. My husband had cataract surgery that helped him see better. I would greatly miss my eyesight if I were to lose it as, like you, I love to read and write. Well done. 🙂 —Susan

  8. I’m legally blind without glasses or contact lenses. Have been since the age of nine. I thank God and some lucky stars someone found a way for me to see. On the other hand my earring is incredibly acute. And I love the balance. Lovely story.

  10. That is my biggest fear concerning old age. To lose my sight. My mother lost hers several years before she passed away and that depressed her more than anything. She had been an avid reader. Well told story. Lucy

  16. I feel the fear your character feels. My vision is getting worse, and although it’s a normal part of aging, a part of me is always worried about the ultimate loss of vision.
